Position: STOCK CONTROLLER
This role reports directly to the SERVICE MANAGER
Site Location: CLAIRWOOD KZN (COLD STORAGE)
The Suitable candidate will meet the criteria below;
Key Performance Areas:
- Stock Accuracy & Cycle Counts
Conduct daily cycle counts, reconcile variances, and maintain accurate inventory records in line with company systems and procedures. - Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
Identify and investigate stock discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. - Operational Reporting
Prepare and submit daily and weekly stock reports, highlighting variances, trends, and recommendations for management action. - Quality Assurance & Stock Rotation
Ensure proper stock rotation using FIFO/FEFO methods, maintaining product quality and compliance with storage standards. - Compliance & SOP Adherence
Enforce compliance with stock control SOPs, company policies, and safety requirements in all stock handling activities.
• Auditing & Stock Verification
Participate in internal and external stock audits, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness.

Possesses good verbal and written communication skills, along with strong numerical reasoning for accurate reporting and problem-solving. - Accountability & Ownership
Takes full responsibility for stock accuracy, including proactive management of discrepancies and adherence to stock control procedures.
Technical competency requirements:
- Microsoft Excel Proficiency
Demonstrates strong skills in Microsoft Excel for stock analysis, reporting, reconciliations, and data management. - Cycle Counts & Stock Reconciliation
Knowledgeable in conducting cycle counts, investigating stock discrepancies, and performing accurate stock reconciliations. - Warehouse & ERP Systems
Understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and SAP to maintain accurate stock records and facilitate reporting. - Shrinkage & Stock Integrity Controls
Familiar with stock loss prevention, shrinkage monitoring, and integrity controls to safeguard inventory and ensure audit readiness.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12
- 2-3 years stock control experience
- Strong Excel and system skills
- Logistics qualification (advantage)
ENVIRONMENTAL OR OTHER CONDITIONS:
- Cold storage environment
- Weekend and after-hours work may be required based on operational needs
