Position: RETURNS MANAGER/SUPERVISOR
This role reports directly to the SERVICE MANAGER
Site Location: CLAIRWOOD KZN (COLD STORAGE)
The Suitable candidate will meet the criteria below;
Key Performance Areas:
- Returns Operations Management
Oversee the end-to-end returns process, including the receipt, verification, handling, and processing of returned stock, ensuring accurate and timely crediting. - Stock Integrity & Loss Prevention
Safeguard stock integrity by preventing incorrect credits, minimising claims, and reducing financial losses through effective controls and checks. - Quality Assurance & Accuracy
Ensure all returned units are accurately counted, inspected, processed, and recorded in line with system and procedural requirements. - People Management & Leadership
Lead, coach, and manage returns supervisors and staff, ensuring productivity, accountability, and adherence to performance standards. - Operational & Management Reporting
Prepare and submit daily and weekly returns performance reports, including trends, variances, root causes, and improvement actions. - Compliance, SOP & Safety Management
Ensure the returns area operates in full compliance with standard operating procedures, health and safety regulations, and internal control standards.

Capable of managing high volumes of returns in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, control, and service levels. - Accountability & Ownership
Takes full accountability for the returns process, including staff performance, stock integrity, compliance, and loss prevention.
Technical competency requirements:
- Returns Processes & SOP Knowledge
Demonstrates sound knowledge of returns management processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal control requirements. - Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) & Technology
Proficient in the use of WMS, scanning systems, and supporting documentation to ensure accurate tracking, processing, and reporting of returned stock. - Industrial Relations (IR) & HR Knowledge
Possesses a practical understanding of basic labour legislation, industrial relations, and HR principles relevant to managing teams, discipline, and performance. - Stock Write-Offs, Refurbishment & Scrapping
Knowledgeable in stock write-off procedures, refurbishment processes, and scrapping protocols, ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and loss control.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12
- 3-5 years warehouse or returns experience
- 2-3 years supervisory/management experience
- Relevant logistics/warehouse qualification (advantage)
ENVIRONMENTAL OR OTHER CONDITIONS:
- Cold storage environment
- Weekend and after-hours work may be required based on operational needs
