Position: SERVICES MANAGER – VEREENIGING
This role reports directly to the Senior Services Manager

About the Role
Sales Administration and Support
Operational Management and Site Execution
- Lead and manage all site operations including inbound, outbound, dispatch, returns, and warehousing activities.
- Conduct daily resourcing using the approved resource calculator, ensuring optimal staff deployment in line with volumes and operational requirements.
- Monitor workforce attendance, overtime, and productivity metrics, ensuring efficient daily execution of tasks.
- Address operational challenges and service delays proactively, escalating issues where necessary.
Financial Oversight and Profitability
- Control site-level financial performance by managing wage costs, overtime, and other direct expenses to ensure a healthy trading profit.
- Prepare and submit monthly Flash Reports, providing insights into site profitability, risks, and corrective actions.
- Track and approve medicals, training, and ad hoc expenses against allocated budgets.
- Support the compilation and submission of monthly dashboards and costings to Head Office/Finance.
- Collaborate with the Senior Services Manager on financial strategies to improve margins and control non-recoverable costs.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the on-site liaison for the client, maintaining a professional and solution-oriented relationship.
- Participate in weekly KPI meetings with the client and ensure issues raised are resolved and documented.
- Submit weekly site performance reports and client feedback summaries to the Senior Services Manager.
- Ensure client SLAs are met consistently, and contractual obligations are fulfilled.
Health, Safety, and Legal Compliance
- Ensure full adherence to health and safety regulations, site SOPs, and company HSE standards.
- Conduct and document daily toolbox talks, safety inspections, and compliance checks.
- Submit the site training matrix monthly to the Health and Safety Department.
- Investigate and report all incidents and near misses, ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Maintain and audit the site’s Health and Safety File during routine checks and visits.
- Ensure all risk assessments and emergency procedures are in place and reviewed periodically.
People Leadership and Staff Development
- Manage, coach, and mentor a team of Supervisors, Team Leaders, and general workers.
- Drive staff performance, discipline, and morale through daily engagement and regular feedback sessions.
- Identify and develop high-potential staff for multiskilling and future leadership roles.
- Assist in identifying training needs and coordinate internal or external training sessions accordingly.
Claims and Quality Management
- Investigate all customer and internal claims relating to damages, shortages, or service failures.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement action plans to mitigate repeat occurrences.
- Ensure that all claims are accurately recorded, processed, and closed timeously.
Reporting and Administrative Responsibilities
- Ensure timeous submission of:
– Daily attendance, timesheets, and overtime schedules.
– Weekly KPI reports and operational scorecards.
– Monthly Flash Report and dashboard submissions. - Maintain updated documentation on operational logs, SOP adherence, training attendance, and compliance records.
- Verify and maintain proper storage of all site-related records, including client correspondence and performance data.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric) is required; a diploma or certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management is advantageous.
- 3–5 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Sound understanding of warehouse operations, client service delivery, and compliance management.
- Strong financial awareness with the ability to interpret and act on Flash Reports, dashboards, and site costing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and warehouse management systems (e.g., STRATO, SAP, or similar).
