Position: SUPERVISOR

This role reports directly to the SERVICE MANAGER

Site Location: ECONO FOODS – COLD STORAGE

The Suitable candidate will meet the criteria below;

• Computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Finance and cost-management understanding
• Solid IR & HR knowledge (disciplinary processes, staff management)
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and compliance

Key Performance Areas:

Team Management

• Supervise daily operational activities and staff performance
• Allocate tasks, provide guidance, and ensure productivity targets 
• Maintain discipline, performance standards, and staff motivation

Workflow Coordination

• Plan, coordinate, and manage shift schedules
• Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational demands
• Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and continuity

Quality Control

• Ensure operational processes meet client and company quality standards
• Conduct ongoing audits and report non-conformance issues
• Provide feedback to supervisors and escalate quality risks

Customer Service

• Promote and maintain high service levels
• Handle client queries, operational complaints, and resolve issues promptly
• Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded

Safety and Compliance

• Enforce compliance with safety, health, environment, and sanitation standards
• Conduct routine safety inspections and address safety hazards
• Ensure adherence to SHERQ requirements

Problem Solving

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational challenges
• Address equipment failures, stock issues, or workflow interruptions
• Implement corrective actions to minimize downtime

Performance Evaluation

• Monitor and evaluate staff performance
• Conduct coaching, feedback sessions, and appraisals
• Ensure adherence to operational KPIs and productivity targets

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a warehouse or cold storage environment.
• Relevant qualifications in Warehouse Management, Six Sigma, and SHERQ
• Minimum 3 years’ retail experience
• Own transport with a valid Code 8 (B) driver’s license

ENVIRONMENTAL OR OTHER CONDITIONS:

Weekend and after-hours work may be required based on operational needs. This is an operational role based in a cold storage distribution environment.
