Position: Process Engineer

Location: Head Office, Kelvin, Gauteng

This role reports directly: Business Development Manager

 

Purpose of the role:

The Process Engineer is responsible for evaluating, designing, and optimizing operational processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality. This role combines analytical thinking with hands-on implementation to drive continuous improvement across production lines, workflows, and system operations.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Analyze existing processes to identify areas for improvement in cost, efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Design and develop new processes or upgrades that meet production goals and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to implement solutions.
  • Develop process documentation, SOPs, flow diagrams, and training materials.
  • Monitor process performance using KPIs and statistical methods; propose corrective actions when needed.
  • Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting of operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations during process changes.
  • Contribute to new product introductions by developing scalable and repeatable processes.
  • Assist sales department with new client’s floorplans and layouts

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical) or a related field
  • 2 years Proven experience in process engineering or manufacturing preferred
  • Familiarity with warehouse and supply chain processes
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or related methodology is a plus
  • Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems and manufacturing software
  • Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Minitab, Six Sigma tools)
