Position: HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

This role reports directly: HR Executive

Location: KZN Regional Office

 

Purpose of the role:

 

Position Summary: The HR Officer is responsible for supporting the HR department in implementing and maintaining effective human resource strategies, policies, and practices. This role ensures compliance with labour laws, supports recruitment and onboarding, manages employee relations, and contributes to a positive workplace culture.

Key Performance Areas:

 

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist in job postings, screening, and interviewing candidates.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new hires.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee queries and concerns.
  • Support conflict resolution and disciplinary processes.

HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Prepare HR reports and documentation as needed.

Policy Implementation

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and labour legislation.
  • Assist in updating and communicating HR policies and procedures.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate training sessions and track employee development.
  • Support performance management processes.

Payroll & Benefits Support

  • Liaise with payroll and benefits providers to ensure accurate processing.
  • Assist employees with benefits-related queries.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in an HR role.
  • Knowledge of labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL OR OTHER CONDITIONS:

Weekend work and after hours work in an operational position might be required.
