Position: DISPATCH MANAGER/SUPERVISOR

This role reports directly to the OPERATIONS MANAGER

Site Location: CLAIRWOOD KZN (COLD STORAGE)

The Suitable candidate will meet the criteria below;

Key Performance Areas:

• Outbound Operations Management
  Oversee the end-to-end dispatch process, including load planning, vehicle preparation, and compliance with load specifications and delivery schedules.
• Team Leadership & Supervision
  Lead, coach, and manage dispatch supervisors, checkers, and loaders to ensure productivity, accountability, and adherence to operational standards.
• Quality Control & Documentation
  Ensure correct loading procedures, accurate paperwork, scanning, and record-keeping to minimize errors and discrepancies.
• Trailer & Load Integrity
  Verify that loads are accurate, complete, and secure to prevent store claims, damages.
• Safety & Compliance
  Enforce safety protocols, company policies, and legal requirements within the dispatch area to maintain a safe working environment.
• Performance Monitoring & Reporting
  Track and analyze dispatch KPIs, including loading time, accuracy, and errors, and implement corrective actions to improve operational efficiency.

  Able to identify, manage, and mitigate dispatch risks while ensuring compliance with safety, legal, and company regulations.
• Communication & Pressure Management
  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to remain effective and make decisions under pressure.
• Planning & Distribution Knowledge
  Strong understanding of distribution processes, route planning, load optimization, and efficient resource allocation.

Technical competency requirements:

• Routing & Dispatch Process Knowledge
  Demonstrates a strong understanding of dispatch operations, route planning, load optimization, and outbound delivery processes.
• Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) & Scanning
  Proficient in using WMS and scanning systems to track, record, and manage outbound stock accurately.
• Reporting & Performance Analysis
  Skilled in preparing accurate and insightful reports on dispatch performance, KPIs, and operational metrics.
• Dispatch Compliance Standards
  Knowledgeable of dispatch SOPs, safety regulations, and internal control standards to ensure compliance and minimize errors or risks.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12
• +5 years dispatch experience
• 2-3 years management experience
• Logistics/transport qualification (advantage)
• Own transport is essential

ENVIRONMENTAL OR OTHER CONDITIONS:

• Cold storage environment
• Weekend and after-hours work may be required based on operational needs
